Fixed Stars
The fixed stars are not much used in Western astrology, except esoterically. However, the ancients used them a great deal. While the constellations have moved on with the shifting of the Earth's axis from the place where they were when the Greeks decided that those dot-to-dots were to be visual mnemonics for the zodiac signs, the fixed stars themselves do not care about what humans believe that their patterns mean or mark. They have their own meanings.
I was looking up at the sky one night, finding constellations, and some of my Gods started to speak to me, telling me that certain constellations were theirs. As they each came forward and told me about them, I discovered that some of them used the same cluster of stars as the ancient Greeks (although not always the modern astronomical version) and some broke them up differently into multiple "owned" stars. (The Greek constellation Orion, for example, is broken up into several different sets of stars.) I began to research what those fixed stars were about in other cultures, and discovered that I could often find similar meanings in other parts of the world.
